Certificate in Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCCSD)

The programme on Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCCSD) has been framed with an intention to provide a general concept within the dimensions of climate change and challenges to Sustainable Development. It consists of five courses within the duration of 6 months. These are: CCCSD: Principles and Approaches, CCCSD: Challenges and Choices, CCCSD: Policies and Programmes, CCCSD: Stories of Success and CCCSD: Project Work.

It is to equip the learners with appropriate tools and techniques for interpreting the impacts of climate change and evaluating & implementing measures that reduce vulnerability of systems. Thus, ensuring University – Industry interface in Skill-based education through empowering the learners with the mitigation and adaptation strategies against climate changes in future.

It offers an opportunity to interact with administrators, community leaders,NGOsandprofessionals helping the students to understand the broad framework of Climate Change inIndia in general and Odisha in particular.

Highlights of the Course:
Duration of the Course – Minimum: 6 months, Maximum: 2 years.
Conduct of Classes – Weekend for 4 hours (preferably on Sundays)
Total Counseling Sessions – 16, Study Hours – 480 hours.
Evaluation – Based on Assignments, Project Work and Term end Examinations
Course Coverage – Inclusion of Project Work, Case Studies and Field visits is to understand practicalaspects of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Programme.

Target Group:
Students pursuing +3 (Graduation) and Post Graduation courses in any discipline can join in this coursefor enhancement of knowledge as preparedness for the changes in the climate.
It intends to include Civilians, School and College level Teachers, Scientists and educational functionaries, Agricultural graduates and Management graduates, NGO’s professional, Environmental Executives, Policy makers, Journalists.

Minimum Qualification - +2 pass

Pedagogy:
The Course shall be taught with Self Learning Material, e-learning materials, OERs, Field visits and Project Works.

Pass out students:
Can join in NGOs, CBOS, Projects of Funding Agencies (UNDP, World Bank, JICA, DFID, etc), CSR Units of Corporate/Business houses.
Can join in consultancies and environmental agencies as Support staff, Community Mobilizer.
